How and why did you get into this sport?
My father was a boxer and my grandfather was a professional boxer- I also got into boxing because I believe it’s a great form of fitness and it’s good for mental health too.
What has been your biggest recent battle with training?
One of my biggest recent battles with training has been finding balance. Managing an athlete’s lifestyle while being a full-time university student is no joke — it takes real commitment. Between boxing, studying, and working, I’ve had to sacrifice time with family.
It gets especially tough during exam season. Juggling classes, revision, training sessions, and prepping for upcoming bouts can be overwhelming. The balance between academic life and athlete life often feels impossible, but I’ve learned it comes down to priorities. For me, that’s staying focused on doing well in both boxing and my education.
If we were to open your diary from the last week, what would it say?
I had my first bout — and honestly, I’m proud of myself. After all the training and finally seeing what boxing is really about, it’s made me even more motivated to keep going.
Being in the ring gave me a proper feel for it all, and now I know this is 100% what I want to do. It was a big moment for me, and it’s just the beginning.
