Performance Coach & Personal Trainer

Current sporting discipline

HYROX Mixed Doubles, Pro Doubles, 10k Race & Half Marathon

How and why did you get into this sport?

I got into running and HYROX because I was searching for something that challenged me, not just physically, but mentally and emotionally.

Running gave me structure when life felt messy. It started simple: just lacing up, going out, trying to be better than yesterday. Over time, it became my way of building discipline and self-worth. HYROX came later, and it pushed me to another level. The combination of endurance, strength, and grit instantly hooked me. It’s a sport where there’s nowhere to hide. It exposes your weaknesses, and I love that, because it means constant growth.

Now it’s more than just competing. It’s about who I become through the process, and helping others do the same.

What has been your biggest recent battle with training?

My biggest recent battle with training has been managing the balance between performance and recovery. I’ve been chasing a sub-19 5K while also training for HYROX, two goals that demand different things from the body. There were weeks where I felt unstoppable, and others where I felt completely drained. The hardest part was learning when to push and when to pull back, especially with the pressure I put on myself to always be progressing.

But through it, I’ve learned that progress isn’t always linear, and sometimes, the most important gains happen when you slow down, listen to your body, and come back smarter, not just harder.

If we were to open your diary from the last week, what would it say?

If you opened my diary from last week, you’d probably ask, “How is this guy still standing?”
Monday to Thursday, I’m coaching 1-2-1 clients, helping them build strength, lose weight, and rediscover their spark. Tuesday night? I lead my interval run club, pushing people through speed sets while managing my own training load. Friday’s HYROX night. Saturday? Parkrun and gym. Sunday? Social run club… followed by my own long run.

Sundays and Mondays are also packed with online client check-ins, reviewing progress, giving feedback, and making sure everyone is on track and feeling supported.

Somewhere in the middle of all that, I’m editing and posting my own social media content to keep building the message, showcasing the journey, and bringing more people into this space.

I’m still getting in 3 strength sessions to support my HYROX and running goals, and clocking up 3–4 runs a week, a mix of threshold, speed, long, and recovery.

Last Saturday, I set a new 5K course PB at Basingstoke with 19:24, down from 19:38 the week before. But honestly? What hit harder was seeing how many others showed up and gave it their all. That’s what sticks with me.

The hardest part isn’t the training, it’s the balance. But I wouldn’t change a thing. It’s chaos, yeah… but it’s my chaos. And it’s building something bigger than me.
