Triathlon, 70.3/middle distance

How and why did you get into this sport?

 

My why.. at a young age my grandfather taught me to swim & ride bike and I consistently kept these up as a way to remember him and the time we spent together after he passed away in 2013.
Mum then started doing triathlons in 2015, soon followed by Ironman Wales and has been my inspiration ever since to continue in the sport.

What has been your biggest recent battle with training?

Generally time, time is a constant battle, I work many hours & coach on the gym floor so finding the right balance of training when tired is tough.

But for the last few months, I've been limited in my swim training as I'm experiencing some rotator cuff pain. Learning to do what I can over pushing through pain is a new battle but I'm learning it's making me a better athlete.

If we were to open your diary from the last week, what would it say?

Oh my diary the last few weeks has been a little crazy & life changing.

After a tougher first 6 months in my coaching business, I've finally got to a point where I have some amazing athletes I coach and this has re lit the passion & fire in me to keep coaching as a few months ago I was so ready to give up on the dream.

Personally, in my training I'm pushing bigger numbers on the bike than I ever thought possible, I'm seeing progress across my running.

And I've had a new sponsorship offer that 2024 me would've only dreamed of having.
