Current sporting discipline

Running, currently in training for Basingstoke Half Marathon

How and why did you get into this sport?

I got into running thanks to my dad, who’s been running for over 15 years. His experience and guidance helped me start in a way that was both realistic and sustainable. But on a personal level, my reason was simple—I wanted to lose weight and feel good again!

What has been your biggest recent battle with training?

My biggest battle in training is remembering not to be too hard on myself when I miss my targets. You won’t always hit them—but effort counts just as much as results.

If we were to open your diary from the last week, what would it say?

I've recently noticed that when aiming for a personal best, you can't take shortcuts. You have to train hard, stay focused, and cut out anything that could hinder you. Maintaining discipline is tough, but that’s why you get the results when you do! Of course, I'm nowhere near a professional athlete and never will be, but everyone has their own goals. To reach them, you have to do what it takes. If you don't reach your goals and you're not being disciplined, you can't complain about it!
